Hilton Worldwide

From our little office at DFB in Covent Garden, Paul and I worked on the worldwide pitch for Hilton Hotels. The brief was good
but we wanted to know more and insisted on meeting someone who had worked for Hilton so that we could really get to know the brand. A very experienced manager turned up and we learned about Hilton’s incredible heritage all over the world, from John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s ‘Love In’ at the Amsterdam Hilton to Winston Churchill making speeches at The Waldorf Hilton in New York. Then we asked about the present day and he told us a story about a premiership footballer who had just caused a bit of a scandal by having an affair at a Hilton. He summed up the story by saying the line that we used on our ads: ‘It happens at The Hilton.’ Greg presented the campaign in New York and DFB won the worldwide account.
