I knew at Saatchi’s that I had been at a truly great agency but walking into Bartle Bogle Hegarty on that first day I felt as if I was standing on the summit of Mount Everest. BBH had Audi, Levi’s, Polaroid, Boddingtons to name a just a few great clients and was the glamour agency of the time. It was the mid 90s and Paul and I were thrilled to have been offered the job of being group heads there. But I use my Everest analogy on purpose. Because unlike Saatchi’s, after a while I felt there was less oxygen at BBH and I knew it didn’t suit us as well as we’d hoped. We did some good work but not as as much went through as we would have liked. I think one of the best things we did was a tv ad to
commemorate the twentieth anniversary of John Hegarty and Barbara Noakes’ world famous Levi's commercial 'Laundrette'. Levi's Agency: BBH
